A journey of skateboarding across the United States, at skateparks in various cities. I am organizing to build a skate park in my hometown of Davis, West Virginia. A skate park that is free of charge and open to everyone will be a positive addition to the community, providing a place for kids and athletes alike to gather and skate.

Wee, Wedding!
Reunited with old friends I realize we are all pretty much the same people as we were many years ago, just bigger. In a field with horses, stars glittering above, and the moon behind puffy clouds, I sat around a fire. A night dew felt wet on my bare feet, and the sound of music issued from a red barn. Too many mixed drinks I stumble into the field, letting my emotions come sobbing out of me. So much love, so little time, I let the world have me. I felt a soft warm nuzzle from one of the horses. My spirit became lifted, and as I reached out my hand the huge head turned and continued munching grass. Love is like a horse, calm, but easily spooked away. I heard the laughter of my old neighbor, taking me back to the days of childhood. All of this occasion watched by the mighty Tetons, grey against the night sky.

Tetons and the Snake River
In the Northwest corner of WY is the sweetest place to be, until we go to another amazing place in this grand open country. Today we hiked at Teton Pass, after camping around Jackson. In the blazing beauty of the West we stay content. Tomorrow another day in the land of the cowboy. Stay on it...or get bucked off.

Im going to Jackson
Things we saw driving East from Oregon...
The Three Sisters.
Somewhere in the middle of Idaho we camped at a small lake that was apparently drying up. We drove down to the boat ramp, which did not touch the waters edge, but instead steered you onto a dry and flat field that used to be under water. The lake was being fed by a small creek that cut through muck that would eat your shoes if you stepped in it. As a matter of fact, Noah did lose his shoes to the mud. On three sides of us mountains stood close, a majestic view into the Pioneer Range I believe. Looking South your eyes would see far into the flat but uneven volcanic lands. Upon steeping out of the car, someone noticed shards of obsidian, small pieces that had obviously been knapped. We think this was a place Native Americans came to teach the children to knap spear points and knives, as there was not obsidian naturally in that area. I found a very round stone with chips in it, maybe a striker stone. Then our Swedish friend stumbled upon a perfect arrowhead made of the glassy looking black obsidian. We even found flakes of agate and a different colorful stone that had been worked on. At the lake were two large Great Blue Herons, pelicans, and sea gulls. We had found another awesome place to camp.
I got to skate in Billings Montana today.

Eastern Oregon
The car is loaded down and all five seats are filled. We drove across the rain shadow into Eastern Oregon; the temperature jumped from 50's to 60's, and sun burned off the last of the thunderstorm that awoke us in the early morning. The driving is very scenic, a mix of desert and green valleys, and tons of cool volcanic rock protruding from the mountains. On the road again!

Safe!
We all rocked the Oregon Country Fair. It was the coolest festival I ever saw, and the people attending were beautiful. Lots of music, art, and people in a positive place, fills you with motivation to live life to the fullest. Before the Fair we camped a whole week in the mountains, living on trout we cought in the lake, paddling around on big makeshift rafts. Perfect weather, and no worries put us in a good mood for the festival. Now it is time to move on. I will miss Oregon, but know I shall return. On to Wyoming...

Friends
Yesterday we swung by the Saturday Market, played some hackeysack, and talked to some people. I traded some scones for some homemade salve that was made with plants she had grown and collected. After that we swung by our new friend Oliver's place, and we all hung out inside and playing frisbee in the back yard. We crashed on a back porch and awoke to a cloudy day, so skateboarding will wait another day. So here we are, three kids with a car, shooting for the stars.

Hello Saturday
Today is the Saturday market in Eugene. It is a must see if you are in the area. Food, music, and people, and my favorite, lots of hippies. I think that festival goers reside here when not out travelling. There is a drum jam worth checking out, along with people jamming on the street. The folks we've met here are nice, and today should be a good day. Much love

Chillin'
Our friend Ian showed us an old shack tucked deep in the woods. There was a ropeswing that kept us entertained, and an odd assortment of things left behind in the shack to look through. After a good jam, we met a few more friends, and walking past Amazon I heard my name called. It was Eliza and her little brother Merrel whom I had met my last visit. She said she would be working a Thai food booth at the Country Fair, and could hook up some tasty food if I am there. After that a lady got out of her car and asked us if we were skaters. Her grandson was 15 and she complained that he needed to meet kids instead of playing video games. She was almost crying, and felt so much better after meeting and talking with us, as it gave her hope that there are kids out there that are friendly.
Camping, Noah woke up with two spider bites, real close to his eyes. He toughed it out like he always does, and walking back to the car in the morning, was given two big panini sandwhiches. After a breakfast of french toast cooked out ofthe back of my car on the street, we skated Emerald, and then Amazon. There we met a girl, who later saw us by the bakery she works at, and brought us a bag of delicious cookies. We were so grateful, and we ended up seeing her again just a minute ago.
Playing music on the street we met an Italian who was in Eugene for the Olympic Trials. He was a massage therapist for the athletes, and was checking out downtown, which we all agreed was boring. All we have to do is wait for what life brings us, and go with what we are given.

Train Song
We skated three spots yesterday in the Eugene area. After shredding Amazon, our friend Ian showed us the way to a little skate park at the edge of town called Train Song. It was a cement flat with metal ramps, the same company of ramps I've seen back in Morgantown, WV. There a few older skaters drug in some wooden ramps to add to the fun. They were jamming Sublime on some little ipod speakers, and one guy even had his little baby there in a crib while he skated. We made some curry potatoes and Thai coffee for dinner. Alas, we skated Emerald skate park until dark. So it was a full day of skating, and then we went to sleep in some grass by a middle school, and awoke to the sprinklers soaking us. So we jumped up, awake, and had to relocate. I went up on the hill, and Trey slept in the car. Today we want to go find an old cabin Ian knows of, and probably skate a bunch more.
